Houchens Food Group, Inc Appoints Boyd West as Senior Director of Fresh

Houchens Food Group is pleased to welcome Boyd West as Senior Director of Fresh Merchandising.

Boyd brings more than 47 years of experience across both the retail and wholesale sides of the grocery industry. He began his career working in family-owned independent stores in Lewisburg, Tennessee, while still in school, and later joined Red Food Stores, where he spent 10 years in various management roles, ultimately serving as a Produce Supervisor and Trainer.

On the wholesale side, Boyd held leadership roles at Malone & Hyde/Fleming Foods and Mitchell Grocery Company, and most recently served as Director of Fresh Departments at Associated Wholesale Grocers.

Boyd holds an Associate’s Degree in Business from Motlow State Community College and is active in the grocery industry. He currently serves as Treasurer of the Tennessee Grocers Education Foundation, is on the Board of the Alabama Grocers Association, and was recently named Wholesaler of the Year.

Outside of work, Boyd enjoys time with his wife, Lanette, their children and grandchildren, golf, and the lake.

Boyd’s deep experience, leadership, and passion for fresh will be a strong asset as we continue to elevate our merchandising strategy and support our stores.
